The Presence of the LORD

¹Preserve me, O God,for in You I take refuge.

²I said to the LORD, “You are my Lord;apart from You I have no good thing.”

³As for the saints in the land,they are the excellencein whom all my delight resides.

⁴Sorrows will multiplyto those who chase other gods.I will not pour out their libations of blood,or speak their names with my lips.

⁵The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup;You have made my lot secure.

⁶The lines of my boundary have fallen in pleasant places;surely my inheritance is delightful.

⁷I will bless the LORD who counsels me;even at night my conscience instructs me.

⁸I have setthe LORD always before me.Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

⁹Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;my body also will dwell securely.

¹⁰For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol,nor will You let Your Holy One see decay.

¹¹You have made known to me the path of life;You will fill me with joy in Your presence,with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.

To You I Lift Up My Soul

¹To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul;

²in You, my God, I trust.Do not let me be put to shame;do not let my enemies exult over me.

³Surely none who wait for You will be put to shame;but those who engage in treachery without cause will be disgraced.

⁴Show me Your ways, O LORD;teach me Your paths.

⁵Guide me in Your truth and teach me,for You are the God of my salvation;all day long I wait for You.

⁶Remember, O LORD, Your compassion and loving devotion,for they are from age to age.

⁷Remember not the sins of my youth,nor my rebellious acts;remember me according to Your loving devotion,because of Your goodness, O LORD.

⁸Good and upright is the LORD;therefore He shows sinners the way.

⁹He guides the humble in what is rightand teaches them His way.

¹⁰All the LORD’s ways are loving and faithfulto those who keep His covenant and His decrees.

¹¹For the sake of Your name, O LORD,forgive my iniquity, for it is great.

¹²Who is the man who fears the LORD?He will instruct him in the path chosen for him.

¹³His soul will dwell in prosperity,and his descendants will inherit the land.

¹⁴The LORD confides in those who fear Him,and reveals His covenant to them.

¹⁵My eyes are always on the LORD,for He will free my feet from the mesh.

¹⁶Turn to me and be gracious,for I am lonely and afflicted.

¹⁷The troubles of my heart increase;free me from my distress.

¹⁸Consider my affliction and trouble,and take away all my sins.

¹⁹Consider my enemies, for they are many,and they hate me with vicious hatred.

²⁰Guard my soul and deliver me;let me not be put to shame,for I take refuge in You.

²¹May integrity and uprightness preserve me,because I wait for You.

²²Redeem Israel, O God,from all its distress.

Tried but Trusting

¹Incline Your ear, O LORD, and answer me,for I am poor and needy.

²Preserve my soul, for I am godly.You are my God; save Your servant who trusts in You.

³Be merciful to me, O Lord,for I call to You all day long.

⁴Bring joy to Your servant,for to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.

⁵For You, O Lord, are kind and forgiving,rich in loving devotion to all who call on You.

⁶Hear my prayer, O LORD,and attend to my plea for mercy.

⁷In the day of my distress I call on You,because You answer me.

⁸O Lord, there is none like You among the gods,nor any works like Yours.

⁹All the nations You have madewill come and bow before You, O Lord,and they will glorify Your name.

¹⁰For You are great and perform wonders;You alone are God.

¹¹Teach me Your way, O LORD,that I may walk in Your truth.Give me an undivided heart,that I may fear Your name.

¹²I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart;I will glorify Your name forever.

¹³For great is Your loving devotion to me;You have delivered me from the depths of Sheol.

¹⁴The arrogant rise against me, O God;a band of ruthless men seeks my life;they have no regard for You.

¹⁵But You, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God,slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion and faithfulness.

¹⁶Turn to me and have mercy;grant Your strength to Your servant;save the son of Your maidservant.

¹⁷Show me a sign of Your goodness,that my enemies may see and be ashamed;for You, O LORD, have helped me and comforted me.

I Will Exalt You, My God and King

¹I will exalt You, my God and King;I will bless Your name forever and ever.

²Every day I will bless You,and I will praise Your name forever and ever.

³Great is the LORD and greatly to be praised;His greatness is unsearchable.

⁴One generation will commend Your works to the next,and will proclaim Your mighty acts—

⁵the glorious splendor of Your majesty.And I will meditate on Your wondrous works.

⁶They will proclaim the power of Your awesome deeds,and I will declare Your greatness.

⁷They will extol the fame of Your abundant goodnessand sing joyfully of Your righteousness.

⁸The LORD is gracious and compassionate,slow to anger and abounding in loving devotion.

⁹The LORD is good to all;His compassion rests on all He has made.

¹⁰All You have made will give You thanks, O LORD,and Your saints will bless You.

¹¹They will tell of the glory of Your kingdomand speak of Your might,

¹²to make known to men Your mighty actsand the glorious splendor of Your kingdom.

¹³Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,and Your dominion endures through all generations.The LORD is faithful in all His wordsand kind in all His actions.

¹⁴The LORD upholds all who falland lifts up all who are bowed down.

¹⁵The eyes of all look to You,and You give them their food in season.

¹⁶You open Your handand satisfy the desire of every living thing.

¹⁷The LORD is righteous in all His waysand kind in all His deeds.

¹⁸The LORD is near to all who call on Him,to all who call out to Him in truth.

¹⁹He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him;He hears their cry and saves them.

²⁰The LORD preserves all who love Him,but all the wicked He will destroy.

²¹My mouth will declare the praise of the LORD;let every creature bless His holy nameforever and ever.
